How to perform this exercise

  1. Lie on a bench face-up with your head hanging off the end.
  2. Place a weight plate on your forehead and hold it in place with your hands.
  3. Tuck your chin toward your chest, raising your head against the resistance.
  4. Hold briefly at the top.
  5. Slowly lower back to the starting position.
  6. Use very light weight — the neck muscles are small and injury-prone.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
