How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit at the universal press machine shoulder press station and adjust the seat so handles are at shoulder height.
  2. Grip the handles and sit upright with your back against the pad.
  3. Press the handles overhead until your arms are nearly fully extended, avoiding full lockout.
  4. Keep your core braced and avoid arching your lower back excessively.
  5. Lower the handles back to shoulder height with control.
  6. Perform 3-4 sets of 10-12 repetitions.
