How to perform this exercise
- Sit in the universal press machine leg press station and adjust the seat so your knees are bent at approximately 90 degrees.
- Place your feet shoulder-width apart on the footplate, toes slightly turned out.
- Press the footplate away by extending your knees and hips, stopping just short of full lockout.
- Slowly lower the footplate back until your knees return to 90 degrees.
- Keep your lower back pressed against the pad throughout the movement.
- Perform 3-4 sets of 10-15 repetitions.
