How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit at the universal press machine lat pulldown station and secure your thighs under the pad.
  2. Reach up and grip the overhead bar or handles with a wide overhand grip.
  3. Sit upright with a slight arch in your lower back.
  4. Pull the bar or handles down toward your upper chest, leading with your elbows and squeezing your lats.
  5. Pause briefly at the bottom, then slowly extend your arms back overhead.
  6. Perform 3-4 sets of 10-12 repetitions.
