How to perform this exercise
- Sit in a leg press machine and place the ball of one foot on the lower edge of the platform.
- Extend your leg fully so the platform is pushed away from you.
- Lower your heel toward you by dorsiflexing the ankle for a full calf stretch.
- Press through the ball of your foot to push the platform away, plantar-flexing fully.
- Hold briefly at the top, squeezing the calf.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions then switch sides.
