How to perform this exercise

  1. Stand with your heels on the edge of a step or flat on the floor, toes pointing forward.
  2. Raise the front of your feet (toes and ball of foot) off the floor as high as possible by contracting the tibialis anterior.
  3. Hold briefly at the top.
  4. Slowly lower back to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
