How to perform this exercise

  1. Hold a barbell in front of your thighs with an overhand grip, arms extended.
  2. Slightly bend your knees and hips.
  3. Drive through your legs explosively while simultaneously shrugging your shoulders upward.
  4. Use the momentum from the leg drive to shrug heavier than you normally could.
  5. Let the bar float slightly as your shoulders reach maximum height.
  6. Lower back to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
