How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit in the hip abductor machine with your back against the pad and legs inside the pads.
  2. Adjust the starting position so your legs are together or slightly narrower than hip-width.
  3. Push your legs outward against the resistance by contracting your outer glutes and hips.
  4. Hold briefly at the widest point.
  5. Slowly bring your legs back together for 3-4 sets of 12-15 reps.
