How to perform this exercise

  1. Set up a safety squat bar on your shoulders.
  2. Hold onto uprights or a rack for stability with both hands — freeing the hands from the bar is a key feature.
  3. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
  4. Squat down to depth, using your hands on the uprights to assist if needed.
  5. Drive through your heels to stand back up.
  6. The hand support allows for higher volume and unique loading.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
