How to perform this exercise

  1. Attach a cuff to the low cable pulley and strap it around one ankle.
  2. Stand sideways to the machine with the cuffed ankle near the pulley.
  3. Hold the machine for balance.
  4. Keeping your leg straight, lift it directly out to the side as far as possible.
  5. Hold briefly at the top.
  6. Slowly lower back to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions then switch sides.
