How to perform this exercise

  1. Anchor a resistance band at face height around a sturdy post or rack.
  2. Grip one end of the band in each hand with an overhand grip.
  3. Step back until there is tension in the band with arms extended.
  4. Pull the band toward your face, leading with your elbows flaring outward.
  5. Pull until your hands are beside your ears and elbows are in line with your shoulders.
  6. Hold briefly then slowly extend your arms back to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
